Cab Tilt Hydraulic Pump Cleaning and Anti-corrosion Maintenance Guide
The cab tilt hydraulic pump is a key component that ensures normal cab tilt operation. Its performance directly affects the safety and reliability of the equipment. Proper cleaning and anti-corrosion maintenance can effectively extend the service life of The Hydraulic Pump and reduce the occurrence of failures. The following are detailed maintenance steps and precautions:
1. Preparation before cleaning
Before cleaning, adequate preparation is essential to ensure effective cleaning and safe operation. First, prepare the necessary tools and materials, including a dedicated hydraulic oil cleaner (compatible with the hydraulic oil used in the hydraulic pump), a clean, soft cloth, a high-pressure cleaning gun (equipped with a low-pressure mode), a sealed container, a filter wrench, a new hydraulic oil filter, and more. Secondly, handle the equipment safely: shut down the engine and remove the key, waiting for the hydraulic system to completely depressurize, typically 10-15 minutes, to avoid operating under pressure and potentially injuring anyone with hydraulic oil spray. At the same time, clean the area around the hydraulic pump, removing dust, sand, and other debris from the surface to prevent impurities from entering the hydraulic system during cleaning.
2. Cleaning steps of hydraulic pump
(1) External cleaning
First, use a high-pressure cleaning gun in low-pressure mode to rinse the outside of the hydraulic pump, focusing on removing surface oil, dust, and dirt. For stubborn oil stains, spray hydraulic oil cleaner on a soft cloth and gently wipe the hydraulic pump housing and connecting pipes, taking care to avoid the cleaner entering the hydraulic pump's oil inlet, oil outlet, and other interfaces. After cleaning, wipe the surface dry with a clean soft cloth to ensure there is no residual moisture or detergent.
(2) Internal cleaning (hydraulic oil replacement and system flushing)
When the hydraulic oil becomes turbid, black, or contains impurities, it needs to be cleaned internally. First, find the drain plug of the hydraulic pump, place a sealed container under the drain port, unscrew the plug and drain the old hydraulic oil until the oil is completely drained. Then, remove the hydraulic oil filter element and rinse the filter element housing with a special detergent. If the filter element is damaged or severely clogged, it should be replaced directly with a new filter element. Next, add an appropriate amount of special flushing oil (or new hydraulic oil) to the hydraulic oil tank, start the engine (idling), and let the hydraulic pump run under no-load conditions for 5-10 minutes to allow the flushing oil to circulate in the system and fully flush the internal pipes and components. Finally, drain the flushing oil again, install a new hydraulic oil filter element and drain plug, and add new hydraulic oil according to the specified oil quantity and model.
3. Anti-corrosion treatment measures
(1) Surface corrosion protection
After cleaning and drying the surface of the hydraulic pump, apply a thin layer of anti-rust grease to the exposed metal parts (such as bolts, joints, etc.), but be careful to prevent the grease from entering the hydraulic system. For the hydraulic pump shell, if the paint surface is damaged, you need to clean the rust on the damaged part first, and then apply the same type of anti-rust paint as the original paint surface to prevent further rust.
(2) Anti-corrosion effect of hydraulic oil
Ensure that you use high-quality hydraulic oil. High-quality hydraulic oil has excellent anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties and can effectively protect the metal components inside the hydraulic pump. At the same time, regularly check the oil level and oil quality of the hydraulic oil. When the oil quality deteriorates, replace it in time to avoid corrosion and wear of internal components due to hydraulic oil deterioration. In addition, when filling the hydraulic oil, use clean refueling tools to prevent impurities and moisture from mixing in. Moisture will aggravate the corrosion of the hydraulic system. Therefore, the hydraulic oil tank must be well sealed to prevent rainwater from entering.
4. Daily maintenance and inspection
In addition to regular cleaning and anti-corrosion treatment, daily maintenance inspections are also crucial. Regularly check the hydraulic pump's connecting pipes for looseness or leakage. If leakage is found, tighten or replace the seals in time. Observe whether the hydraulic pump has abnormal noise, vibration, or high temperature during operation. These phenomena may indicate that there is a fault or wear inside the hydraulic pump, and it is necessary to stop the machine and check it in time. At the same time, keep the environment around the hydraulic pump clean and dry, and avoid long-term exposure to humid, dusty or corrosive gas environments.
Through the above-mentioned standardized cleaning, anti-corrosion treatment and daily maintenance measures, the normal operation of the cab tilt hydraulic pump can be effectively guaranteed, its service life can be extended, the occurrence rate of equipment failure can be reduced, and the safety and reliability of driving operations can be ensured. From August 27 to August 30, 2018, SORL took part in the international exhibition of spare parts, automotive components, equipment and products for car maintenance MIMS Automechanika Moscow 2018. As a leading business platform in Russia and Eastern Europe, MIMS Automechanika Moscow annually confirms its status as a significant event for representatives of the after-sales car service industry. Within the framework of this exhibition, SORL presented braking equipment and ABS for trucks, trailers and semi-trailers, electric vehicles, as well as clutch components.
